A Day in the Life of an Occupational Nurse

If you’re an experienced RN who enjoys helping others but is ready to step away from the demands of traditional bedside nursing, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

Our Occupational Nurse position offers a 30 hour work week with no weekends or holidays, giving you the opportunity to continue using your clinical expertise in a supportive corporate environment while focusing on employee health, wellness, education, and prevention.

In this role, you’ll:

• Provide first aid and nursing care to associates within the scope of your RN license.
• Assess occupational injuries, illnesses, and exposures, providing appropriate treatment or referrals in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Use your clinical judgment to respond confidently to urgent or emergency situations and determine when additional medical care is needed.
• Serve as a trusted health resource for associates, helping them navigate health concerns and identify when outside medical assistance may be appropriate.
• Promote employee health and wellness through education, preventive care, and health promotion programs.
• Coordinate wellness initiatives, including health fairs, health screenings, and occupational health surveillance testing.
• Coordinate on-site AED/CPR training and conduct ergonomic workplace assessments.
• Support workplace safety and employee well-being while helping create a healthy and productive work environment.
• Manage medical supplies and equipment and assist with budget planning to help ensure the health center operates efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing – Required
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in emergency room, critical care, or public health – Required
