What they need

About BRAMS

Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service that has been delivering comprehensive, culturally safe primary health care to the Broome community for over 45 years. As an approved NDIS provider, BRAMS supports Aboriginal children and families to thrive through culturally responsive disability and early intervention services.

About the Role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health team, with a primary focus on NDIS and early childhood intervention. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal children and their families across Broome and the Kimberley.

Working across clinic, home, community and early learning settings, you will deliver assessment and therapy that supports children's development, function and participation in everyday activities. You will complete functional and developmental assessments, develop and implement family-centred therapy programs, prescribe and coordinate assistive technology, and provide education and capacity building for families, carers and educators. The role also includes participation in case reviews, care planning and multidisciplinary team collaboration, with practice that is high quality, culturally safe, trauma-aware and aligned to the BRAMS Model of Care and Quality Care Framework.

About You

To be considered for this role, please submit a cover letter and resume. Your cover letter must address the Selection Criteria below:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering occupational therapy services in early childhood, paediatric and/or NDIS settings.
  • Proven ability to assess, plan and implement evidence-based, family-centred interventions for children with developmental, functional, cognitive or psychosocial needs.
  • Understanding of early childhood development and family-centred practice, including working alongside families, carers and educators to build capacity.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS, including the early childhood approach, documentation, funding, and compliance requirements.

Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or remote community context is highly regarded.

Why Join Us?

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:

  • Salary sacrificing to maximise your earning potential.
  • Professional development opportunities to support your growth.
  • Generous leave entitlements, including 6 weeks annual leave and 13 weeks long service leave after 7 years.
  • Annual remote allowance of $1,300.
