Occupational Therapist

Working collaboratively with nursery staff, families and other professionals, the Occupational Therapist will help us develop consistent, inclusive and evidence-informed approaches for children who may be neurodivergent or experience developmental, learning, behavioural, social, emotional or regulation challenges.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Observing children within the nursery environment and identifying barriers to learning, participation and wellbeing.
• Providing consultation, assessment and practical recommendations for identified children.
• Delivering targeted staff training on additional support needs, child development, emotional regulation, behaviour as communication and inclusive practice.
• Working alongside practitioners to model effective strategies in everyday nursery routines.
• Supporting the development of child-centred plans, interventions and review processes.
• Advising on adaptations to nursery practice, routines and the learning environment.
• Collaborating sensitively with families to promote consistent approaches between home and nursery.
• Helping staff monitor children’s progress and evaluate the impact of interventions.
• Supporting the nursery to develop resources and approaches that can be sustained beyond the project.
• Contributing to the evaluation of the project and the sharing of learning with the wider early learning and childcare sector.

Pay: £16.58-£77.80 per hour
