What they need

ADK Speech Services, PLLC is a growing, clinician-led speech-language pathology practice seeking licensed Occupational Therapists OTR/L to join our network of independent contractors serving students throughout New York City. **This position is specifically for clinicians interested in providing in-person services in Jamaica, Queens.**

We offer a highly flexible opportunity for Occupational Therapists looking to increase their income, build an additional caseload, or add a few cases around an existing school, private practice, agency, or clinical schedule.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Competitive compensation: Up to $120 per in-person session
  • Flexible scheduling: Clinicians coordinate scheduling directly with families based on mutual availability
  • Flexible caseload: Accept one case, several cases, or build a larger caseload over time
  • Compensatory service opportunities: Many cases involve authorized compensatory hours, providing greater flexibility in scheduling and session frequency than a traditional school-based weekly mandate
  • Minimal administrative burden: Straightforward documentation requirements designed to keep paperwork manageable
  • Choose where you work: Select the boroughs, neighborhoods, and geographic areas you are willing to service
  • No full-time commitment required: Add cases around your existing professional schedule
  • Additional earning potential: Productivity incentives may be available based on monthly completed session volume

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, giving clinicians the ability to decide which available cases fit their schedule, location preferences, and desired caseload.

About the Opportunity

Our clinicians provide individualized occupational therapy to school-age students, including students receiving services through the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE).

Cases are currently predominantly in-person throughout the five boroughs.

Many of our referrals involve compensatory therapy services. Unlike a traditional school mandate requiring a fixed weekly schedule, compensatory hours can often provide greater flexibility for the clinician and family to determine how authorized services are scheduled.

Depending on the student's authorized hours, family availability, clinical appropriateness, and clinician availability, providers may have the opportunity to schedule multiple sessions and complete a meaningful number of service hours each week.

Compensation

  • In-person sessions: Up to $120 per completed session, depending on the case, location, and requirements
  • Productivity incentives may be available based on monthly session volume
  • Contractors are paid monthly following timely submission of complete and approved session documentation

All compensation, authorized service hours, location information, and case requirements are provided before you decide whether to accept a case.

There is no obligation to accept an assignment that does not fit your schedule or geographic preferences.

Flexible Scheduling

One of the primary advantages of working with ADK Speech Services is the flexibility available to our independent contractors.

For accepted cases, clinicians generally coordinate session scheduling directly with the student's parent or guardian based on:

  • Clinician availability
  • Family availability
  • Student needs
  • Authorized service hours
  • Location and travel considerations

Clinicians may accept individual cases to supplement their current income or gradually build a larger caseload based on availability.

Streamlined Documentation

We understand that excessive paperwork can take valuable time away from clinical work.

Our goal is to keep administrative requirements clear, organized, and straightforward. Clinicians are responsible for completing required session documentation, attendance records, worksheets, and applicable parent/guardian signatures, but the process is designed to remain manageable and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized occupational therapy to assigned students
  • Deliver services in accordance with each student's authorized program and clinical needs
  • Coordinate mutually agreeable session schedules with families
  • Maintain accurate and timely session notes, attendance records, worksheets, and required documentation
  • Obtain required parent/guardian signatures and documentation
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with students' families and ADK Speech Services
  • Maintain consistent scheduling for accepted cases
  • Submit complete monthly documentation within required deadlines
  • Maintain all professional licenses, certifications, and insurance required to practice independently

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current, active New York State Occupational Therapist license and registration
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited/approved occupational therapy program
  • Successful completion of the NBCOT Occupational Therapist (OTR) examination
  • Professional liability/malpractice insurance
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Dependable, organized, and professional
  • Ability to provide in-person services within your selected NYC service area

Preferred Qualifications

  • NBCOT certification (OTR)
  • Pediatric and/or school-based occupational therapy experience
  • Experience providing special education related services

Whether you are looking to add a few sessions per week or develop a significant supplemental caseload, ADK Speech Services provides an opportunity to increase your earning potential while maintaining control over your schedule.

Independent Contractor Status

This opportunity is offered on an independent contractor (1099) basis.

Contractors are responsible for maintaining their own professional liability insurance, applicable licenses and certifications, taxes, and other requirements associated with independent practice.

Please submit your resume and provide:
