What they need

Occupational Therapist – Paediatrics and/or Adult Rehabilitation
Permanent full-time or part-time | Springwood, QLD

About the role

The BrainWell Collective is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our growing allied health team.

We welcome applications from OTs with experience or a particular interest in paediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or a combination of both. Your caseload will be discussed with you and shaped around your clinical strengths, interests, and service needs.

Our work supports children, young people, and adults to build skills, increase independence, and participate in activities that matter to them. Depending on your caseload, you may support children with developmental and disability-related needs, or adults living with neurological conditions, acquired brain injuries, and other functional challenges.

Services are delivered in our Springwood clinic and community settings, with telehealth where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including functional capacity assessments and relevant standardised measures.
  • Develop and deliver individualised, evidence-based interventions aligned with client and family goals.
  • For paediatric clients, support participation in play, learning, self-care, routines, and social activities, including fine motor development, sensory processing, and emotional regulation.
  • For adult clients, support daily living skills, cognitive and physical function, community participation, and return to meaningful roles.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, educators, support workers, and other health professionals to support strategies across everyday environments.
  • Recommend adaptive strategies, assistive technology, and environmental changes where appropriate.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and maintain accurate and timely clinical records and reports.
  • Participate in team collaboration, supervision, and professional development.

What we’re looking for

  • A recognised occupational therapy qualification and current AHPRA registration, or eligibility to obtain registration before commencing.
  • At least two years of post-qualification occupational therapy experience.
  • Experience in paediatrics, developmental disability, neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, or related areas. Experience across both paediatric and adult practice is welcome but is not required.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
  • A person-centred and family-centred approach that connects therapy with meaningful everyday outcomes.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills.
  • A commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

Experience with NDIS services, functional capacity assessments, and electronic clinical systems is advantageous.

What we offer

  • Competitive remuneration reflecting your qualifications and experience.
  • Permanent full-time or part-time employment.
  • Opportunities to develop your interests in paediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or a mixed caseload.
  • Access to professional development, training, and mentorship.
  • A supportive allied health team that values collaboration and shared learning.
  • Flexible working arrangements where practicable.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a growing service and make a meaningful difference in clients’ everyday lives.
