Job Summary
Beehive Academy is a comprehensive therapeutic services provider for children with developmental and behavioral disabilities. Our clinic employs ABA, SLP, and OT providers alongside teachers to give families a one-stop-shop for children's services. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs that promote patient independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance quality of life. You will work in home, clinic, or potentially telehealth locations to deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual's unique needs. Your expertise will support patients with various conditions, including neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, post-acute recovery, and chronic health issues. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals of all ages by providing expert care and fostering positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical goals and patient needs.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—ABA, SLP, and educational providers—to coordinate care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to clinical documentation standards.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, caregivers, and school staff on therapeutic strategies and adaptive techniques.
- Support clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders by implementing specialized occupational therapy programs.
- Engage in evidence-based practice to ensure interventions are current and effective across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Participate in case management activities to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document patient care thoroughly.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across various settings such as inpatient care, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical assessment techniques related to occupational therapy.
- Experience working with children with special education needs—including early intervention programs—and supporting students with disabilities in school settings.
- Skilled in developing treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for diverse populations including geriatrics and those recovering from acute or post-acute care episodes.
- Familiarity with occupational therapy assessments focusing on functional abilities and treatment plan development tailored to individual goals.
- Excellent client communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage medical documentation efficiently using electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with privacy standards.
- Knowledge of occupational health principles applicable in workplace or clinical environments is a plus.
