About the Role

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Award Care at Saint Lucie, you will work closely with occupational therapists to design and implement tailored therapy programs that help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic conditions, and maintain independence in their daily lives. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics. Your exceptional communication skills and strong clinical knowledge will enable you to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to achieve optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
• Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify patients' strengths, weaknesses, and goals
• Implement and modify occupational therapy interventions to promote optimal functioning and independence
• Provide training and education to patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and strategies
• Document patient progress and status accurately and thoroughly
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning

Requirements

• Successful completion of an occupational therapy assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
• Valid state licensure and certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
• Minimum 0 years of experience preferred (new graduates welcome to apply)
