Job Title: Occupational Therapy Technician (OT Tech)

Hours: Flexible based on individual client’s programme; hours are guaranteed for each separate contract.

Payment: Zero hours contracts paid monthly

Wage: £15.00 per hour rising to £17.00 per hour after an agreed period of time.

Responsible to: Supervising Clinician and Clinical Director of Stanford Wellbeing.

The role of the Occupational Therapy Technician (OT Tech) is for people with a qualification of NVQ level 2 or higher in an area that compliments a form of Therapy and Rehabilitation, for example:

Physical Intervention – Personal Trainer level 2

Cognitive intervention – CACHE Level 2 teaching assistant

Emotional intervention – Level 2 counselling skills

Occupational Therapy – Relevant Experience

The OT Teach will be supervised by a specialist clinician who will develop bespoke Rehabilitation and Therapy programme and instruct the OT Tech on how to deliver them to the specific client.

The OT Tech will then deliver the Rehab programme to the client in their own home, in the clinic or in the local community and feedback the client’s ability to engage in each session (through the use of the Activity engagement scale and specialist observation assessments) and to provide any pertinent information regarding the sessions via the notes system (CarePlanner).

The role is a zero hour contract and runs for the duration of the intervention plan. The contract is split into blocks of 3 months and is reviewed periodically; the intensity of treatment is based on the individual client’s needs and the intervention can be shared between one or more OT Tech’s.

The OT Tech is directly responsible to the supervising clinician and the Clinical Director of Stanford Wellbeing.

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
