Ocean Freight Import Supervisor

Job Title: Ocean Freight Import Clerk - CargoWise Experience needed.

Salary: £35k

Shift Pattern: MON - FRI (Office Hours) - Hybrid 3 days office/ 2 days from home

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Clerk to join our team based in Manchester. We are a leading global freight forwarding and logistics provider known for delivering comprehensive supply chain solutions across the globe. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of thirty four to thirty five thousand pounds per annum plus benefits. As an Ocean Freight Import Clerk, you will take full ownership of shipments from the initial quotation stage all the way through to final door delivery. Working within a modern, paperless environment, you will coordinate international shipments while tracking and managing every milestone meticulously.

To be considered for this role, you must possess four to five years of hands-on experience within freight forwarding, with a strong focus on ocean imports. Because our operations rely entirely on digital workflows, proficiency using CargoWise is essential. If you also bring experience handling air freight imports, this would be highly desirable and advantageous to your application.

Key Responsibilities

Managing full lifecycle ocean import operations from quotation to final door delivery Liaising with international partners, shipping lines, hauliers, and direct customers Booking shipments, raising documentation, and ensuring all customs compliance requirements are met Updating and managing milestones meticulously within the CargoWise system Resolving operational issues proactively to ensure seamless transit times Invoicing files accurately and efficiently upon completion

Candidate Requirements

Four to five years of proven experience in ocean freight imports Essential hands-on proficiency using the CargoWise operational system Desirable, though not essential, background in air freight operations Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload independently Excellent communication and customer service skills

Pay: £35,000.00 per year
