Job Summary

My client is seeking an organised and customer-focused Ocean Import Coordinator to manage import shipments from origin to final delivery.

The role involves coordinating with overseas agents, shipping lines, customs brokers and transport providers to ensure shipments are handled efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate FCL and LCL ocean import shipments from arrival through customs clearance and final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers.
• Process and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices and packing lists.
• Monitor vessel arrivals, shipment status and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate customs clearance, cargo release and transportation arrangements.
• Provide customers with shipment updates and resolve operational issues.
• Monitor destination charges, demurrage and detention costs.
• Review supplier invoices, prepare customer billing and maintain accurate shipment records.

Requirements

• Previous experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Knowledge of FCL/LCL shipments, shipping documentation and customs clearance procedures.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems.
