Odoo Developer - Integration & EDI

Amnis is looking for an experienced Odoo Developer – Integration & EDI to join a Pakistan-based Odoo team working on an ERP implementation for a German food retail client.

The successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining integrations between Odoo, major retailers, logistics providers and other external systems. The role requires strong Odoo/Python development skills alongside practical experience building reliable B2B interfaces, APIs and automated data-exchange workflows.

This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to work on further international Odoo implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations between Odoo and external business systems.
• Build reliable B2B data-exchange workflows for orders, deliveries, invoices and product information.
• Develop and maintain REST API, SFTP and file-based integrations.
• Process and validate structured formats including XML and CSV.
• Work with EDI/EDIFACT/EANCOM integrations where required.
• Develop adapters and custom Odoo modules for external systems.
• Implement reliable inbound and outbound data-processing workflows.
• Ensure imports are idempotent and do not create duplicate transactions.
• Implement clear validation, logging, exception handling and reprocessing mechanisms.
• Develop automated tests for integrations and custom modules.
• Troubleshoot failed integrations and identify root causes.
• Work closely with the Odoo Technical Lead and project lead in Germany.
• Support integration testing, go-live and post-implementation operations.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for interfaces and custom development.

The project specifically involves exchanges with large German retailers through an EDI provider using EANCOM, as well as file exchanges with a logistics provider.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Odoo and Python development experience.
• Recent experience working with Odoo.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience developing custom Odoo modules and integrations.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and external system integrations.
• Experience with SFTP and automated file processing.
• Experience working with structured data such as XML and CSV.
• Understanding of robust error handling, logging and retry/reprocessing mechanisms.
• Experience writing automated tests.
• Good understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to communicate professionally with international stakeholders.

For example, the project's EDI environment requires reliable handling of inbound files with duplicate detection, validation, error queues, reprocessing and retention of the original message.

Candidates who are not currently Odoo certified should be willing to obtain the applicable certification by the end of January 2027.

Working Hours & Availability

The role requires availability during core collaboration hours of:

09:00–16:00 German time
Approximately 13:00–20:00 PKT during winter and 12:00–18:00 PKT during summer.

Candidates must also be willing to participate in an on-call rota during the February–March 2027 go-live period, including occasional Saturdays.

Data Security

The successful candidate must be comfortable with:

• Signing an NDA.
• Working exclusively with anonymised project data.
• Following strict client security requirements.
• Using company accounts and multi-factor authentication.
• Maintaining an encrypted work device.
• Keeping credentials and API keys secure.
• Not transferring client information to personal devices or public AI tools.

Production client data will not be accessible from Pakistan.
