Odoo Functional Consultant

Senior ERP Functional Consultant - Finance (Odoo) Role purpose: Translate how Stemz actually works - across centers, entities and countries - into a working Odoo setup, then make sure people use it well.

Responsibilities

• Requirement gathering and process design: Run workshops with finance, procurement, inventory, HR and center operations teams to map current (as-is) processes. Page 1 of 5JD - ERP Functional Technical Consultant (Odoo/Zoho) Design to-be processes and document them in a Business Requirement Document (BRD) and fit-gap analysis. Flag where standard Odoo works and where customization is truly needed.

• Configuration: Configure Odoo modules: Accounting, Purchase, Inventory, Sales/Invoicing, Expenses, HR/Payroll as required. Set up multi-company, multi-currency and inter-company flows across the groups entities. Design and set up the cost centre structure (analytic accounts and plans) by center, business line, department and legal entity. Configure chart of accounts, fiscal positions, taxes (GST, TDS, VAT for UAE and other countries), approval workflows and user access rights.

• Data migration: Accounting migration from Tally: migrate chart of accounts, ledgers, vendor and customer masters, open AP/AR, and opening balances for each entity from Tally to Odoo. Inventory migration from the existing ERP: migrate item masters, units of measure, warehouses/locations (by center), stock on hand, batch/lot and expiry details, and open purchase orders into Odoo. Validate migrated data with finance and operations; reconcile trial balances and stock valuation before sign-off.

• Testing and go-live: Write test cases, run SIT and UAT with business users, track and close defects. Plan cut-over and support go-live across entities in phases.

• Training and adoption: Prepare SOPs and user manuals; train end users at HO and centers. Provide post go-live support (L1/L2) and drive continuous improvement.

• Reporting: Set up PL and balance sheet reporting by business line, center and legal entity. Design the group consolidation process in Odoo: inter-company eliminations, currency translation and consolidated financials. Map the chart of accounts for dual reporting under IFRS and Ind AS / Indian GAAP, including GAAP adjustments. Define MIS reports with the finance team (AP/AR ageing, inventory, cost centre profitability).

• Automation and AI: Page 2 of 5JD - ERP Functional Technical Consultant (Odoo/Zoho) Identify manual finance processes (bank reconciliation, invoice entry, approvals, month-end close) and automate them in Odoo. Evaluate and roll out generative AI use cases, such as invoice/document reading, expense categorisation and report commentary.

  Requirements

• Qualified CA or CMA (MBA Finance with strong ERP finance depth considered).

• 8-12 years experience, including at least 3 end-to-end implementations (1 multi-entity or multi-country) of Odoo, Zoho Books/Zoho One, or a comparable ERP (SAP B1, MS Dynamics, NetSuite).

• Strong hands-on knowledge of accounting, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and inventory processes, cost centre accounting and group consolidation.

• Sound understanding of IFRS and Ind AS / Indian GAAP; working knowledge of Indian GST and TDS; exposure to UAE VAT or other international tax is a plus.

• Experience with multi-company, multi-currency setups, and hands-on migration of accounting data from Tally and inventory data from another ERP into Odoo.

• Healthcare, diagnostics or multi-location retail background is a plus.

• Clear communicator who can work with both finance users and developers.

• Good to have Odoo Functional Certification.

• Experience with ERP rollouts in UAE, Philippines or other international entities.
