About Us
Hunter Tutoring is a premium tuition centre in Birmingham with a strict maximum of four students per class. We are looking for an organised, warm and reliable administrator to be the first face our families see.
About the Role
This is an in-person weekend role, ideal for someone with previous experience in a school, tutoring company, or customer-facing role (such as a car showroom). You’ll manage day-to-day reception duties, handle parent communication, and ensure everything runs smoothly on-site.
This role is currently weekends only but may expand to include weekday hours as the business grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Look after registers, records, visitor logs and safeguarding paperwork
- Be our administrator on site during classes, including weekday evenings as they begin
- Open and prepare the centre each weekend (9:30am–3:30pm shifts)
- Greet parents, students, and tutors upon arrival
- Offer hot drinks to visitors and manage sign-ins for tours and appointments
- Maintain a clean and tidy reception area and oversee classroom cleanliness protocols
- Communicate with parents via WhatsApp and email
- Support with missed payments, refunds, rescheduling and escalation (with training)
- Collect, track, and issue monthly Universal Credit receipts
- Monitor tutor attendance and coordinate cover if needed
- Count tuck shop stock and change daily and update the centre’s spreadsheet
- Complete a short end-of-day report and a weekly summary to the Director
What we offer
- Funded safeguarding (DSL) and first aid training
- A paid one-month trial, then probation
- Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30 to 15:30 (up to 12 hours a week), with more hours as the business grows
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confidence with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
- A calm, professional presence when dealing with parents and staff
- Someone proactive, friendly, and reliable — who can take initiative
- Profeciency in using multiple AI software to a high degree is a must.
- Previous administration experience in a school, nursery or education setting
- A current enhanced DBS certificate
- Accuracy, reliability and a professional manner with parents
- Availability on Saturdays and Sundays
To apply, send your CV through Indeed. Hunter Tutoring is an equal opportunities employer and all roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.
