Office Engineer-AutoCAD Operator

About the role

Provide direct engineering, AutoCAD drafting, project reporting, document-control, and field-validation support to the Senior Project Manager. The position shall prepare and update technical drawings, consolidate project information, maintain controlled records, verify reported site conditions, and support timely project delivery in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and instructions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain AutoCAD drawings including site layouts, road and drainage plans, sections, details, field mark-ups, red-line drawings, and as-built updates using verified project information.
• Review approved drawings against actual site conditions and coordinate discrepancies, missing details, or required clarifications with the Project Engineer and Senior Project Manager.
• Support quantity and accomplishment validation through drawing measurements, sketches, dimensions, and field-verified information.
• Consolidate Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Progress Reports, progress photos, manpower, equipment, material status, accomplishments, and site constraints for SPM review.
• Coordinate with Project Engineers and Subcontractor Engineers for missing, late, incomplete, or unsupported reports, drawings, and technical submissions.
• Maintain controlled registers for drawings, RFIs, submittals, site instructions, correspondence, permits, progress reports, issues/actions, and closeout documents.
• Receive, log, route, track, file, and archive controlled documents; ensure current approved revisions are identifiable and superseded files are segregated.
• Prepare management-ready issue summaries, action trackers, meeting minutes, transmittals, technical correspondence, and submission-status reports.
• Conduct site visits when directed to verify work status, dimensions, reported progress, materials, manpower, equipment, photographs, and information requiring field validation.
• Monitor QA/QC and technical documentation including WIR/MIR, method statements, material approvals, test reports, NCRs, corrective actions, and permits as applicable.

About you

• BS Civil Engineering or Architecture
• Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in office engineering, AutoCAD drafting, construction coordination, or technical project documentation.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for plans, layouts, sections, details, mark-ups, red-line drawings, and as-built updates; Civil 3D knowledge is an advantage.
• Able to interpret construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, RFIs, method statements, technical submittals, survey/as-built information, and site instructions.
• Experience in civil/infrastructure or building works such as roadworks, drainage, earthworks, slope protection, land development, warehouses, or similar projects is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PDF markup, and shared-drive/cloud filing; willing to conduct project-site visits when directed.
• Use only current approved/authorized drawings, specifications, and controlled project documents.
• Maintain traceability from approved design to field execution, inspection, reporting, drawing revision, and as-built records.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Company/client information-control and access requirements.
