Bigger Skies Mental Health is a growing outpatient mental health practice providing psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, and integrative mental health services. We provide in-person care in Ohio and Kentucky and are continuing to expand our services and team.

Role Description

Bigger Skies Mental Health is seeking an experienced medical Office Manager Medical familiar with Billing to join our team on-site in Newport, KY, just minutes from downtown Cincinnati.

We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in management and medical billing and coding. Someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable independently researching and resolving customer service and billing issues.

This position will support our 11 practitioners and revenue cycle for our growing practice, including commercial insurance and Medicare billing. Responsibilities include training, organizing staff and schedules, customer service, claim submission and tracking, resolving rejections and denials, payment posting and reconciliation, A/R follow-up, insurance verification, and assisting with billing questions.

We are looking for a strong candidate in leadership role, but open to both experienced billers and strong recent graduates of medical billing/coding programs. Prior behavioral health billing experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has a solid billing foundation and is eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service experience

• Leadership and educational experience or an interest in growing into that is strongly encouraged

• Medical, behavioral health or psychiatry experience strongly preferred

• Experience with or ability to quickly learn EHR/practice management and clearinghouse systems

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

• Ability to independently research and resolve issues

• Professional communication with patients, insurance companies, clinicians, and staff

• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements

• Medical billing/coding education and/or hands-on medical billing experience

• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding

• Familiarity with medical claims, insurance, EOBs/ERAs, denials, and payment posting

• Medicare billing experience preferred, but not required

• Medical billing/coding certification is a plus, but not required

Position Details

Location: On-site in Newport, KY (possibility of working at our Maineville, OH location for the right candidate)

Schedule : Part-time with the option to move full-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week

Compensation : $20–$28/hour, depending on experience
