EMPLOYMENT IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Employment in and by the Catholic Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with and supportive of the mission, teachings, and values of the Catholic Church.

Employees are expected to respect Roman Catholic doctrine, religious practices, and the mission of the Diocese of Pueblo. Their professional and public conduct should not contradict the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or Diocese in a manner that could embarrass the Church or cause scandal.

Because this position serves as a representative of the Catholic Church and the parish community, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate respect for Catholic beliefs, practices, and the pastoral mission of the parish.

Some positions within the Church require the incumbent to be an active Roman Catholic in good standing. Where applicable, reasonable accommodations for the religious practices of employees who are not Roman Catholic may be considered.

This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may be modified, expanded, or changed at any time, with or without notice, as determined by the needs of the parish and the Diocese of Pueblo.
