Offset operator (SM 74 / 102)

Press Operation & Setup

• Set up offset printing machines (sheet-fed or web offset) according to job specifications.
• Install and align printing plates, blankets, and cylinders.
• Adjust ink and dampening systems to achieve correct color balance and registration.
• Load paper and ensure correct sheet size, grain direction, and paper quality.

Printing & Quality Control

• Operate the press to produce high-quality prints within approved standards.
• Monitor print quality, color consistency, registration, and image clarity throughout the run.
• Conduct press checks and approve first-off samples.
• Make real-time adjustments to minimize waste and maintain quality.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and print-quality issues.
• Report major machine problems to maintenance or supervisors promptly.

Material Handling

• Verify job tickets for correct materials, quantities, and specifications.
• Handle inks, plates, paper, and chemicals safely and efficiently.
• Reduce waste of paper, ink, and consumables.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals and waste materials.

Teamwork & Communication

• Coordinate with prepress, finishing, and production teams.
• Train and guide helpers or junior operators as required.
• Provide production updates and report issues to supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Diploma or certification in Printing Technology preferred.

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience operating offset printing machines.
• Hands-on experience with single-color or multi-color offset presses.
• Familiarity with brands such as Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi, Manroland, or similar (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of offset printing principles and color management.
• Ability to read job tickets and technical specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php800.00 - Php1,000.00 per day
