Offset Operator (SM 74 / 102)

About the role

This role involves operating offset printing machines (sheet-fed or web offset) to produce high-quality prints according to job specifications. You will set up machines, manage printing and quality control, perform maintenance and troubleshooting, handle materials safely, and coordinate with production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set up offset printing machines according to job specifications, including installing and aligning printing plates, blankets, and cylinders
• Adjust ink and dampening systems to achieve correct color balance and registration
• Load paper and ensure correct sheet size, grain direction, and paper quality
• Operate the press to produce high-quality prints within approved standards
• Monitor print quality, color consistency, registration, and image clarity throughout the run
• Conduct press checks and approve first-off samples
• Make real-time adjustments to minimize waste and maintain quality
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and print-quality issues
• Verify job tickets for correct materials, quantities, and specifications

About you

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3–7 years of experience operating offset printing machines
• Hands-on experience with single-color or multi-color offset presses
• Strong understanding of offset printing principles and color management
• Ability to read job tickets and technical specifications
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and quality orientation
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Diploma or certification in Printing Technology preferred
• Familiarity with brands such as Heidelberg, Komori, Mitsubishi, Manroland, or similar preferred
