Offshore Calibration Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform calibration, testing, inspection, troubleshooting and basic maintenance of process instruments.
• Calibrate instruments such as:
• Pressure gauges and pressure transmitters
• Temperature gauges, RTDs and temperature transmitters
• Level transmitters
• Flow transmitters / flow meters
• Differential pressure transmitters
• Control and indication instruments
• Carry out calibration using standard equipment such as pressure calibrators, dead-weight testers, temperature calibrators, multimeters and loop calibrators.
• Perform 4–20 mA loop checking, continuity testing and basic signal troubleshooting.
• Read and understand P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument data sheets and calibration procedures.
• Record calibration results and prepare calibration/test reports.
• Identify defective instruments and report abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Follow offshore HSE procedures, PTW requirements and PPE standards.
• Maintain proper calibration records and ensure test equipment is within valid calibration.
• Work effectively under the direction of the Instrument Supervisor / Engineer.

Qualification & Requirements:

• ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or related technical field.
• Minimum 2–3 years hands-on calibration/instrumentation experience.
• Offshore / Oil & Gas / Marine experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration practices.
• Ability to use calibration and testing equipment independently.
• Basic knowledge of hazardous-area working practices is preferred.
• Must be medically fit for offshore work.
• Offshore safety certifications such as BOSIET / FOET / H2S will be an advantage or as required by the project.
