Offshore Structural Checker / Designer, TEKLA.

Responsibilities

The successful consultant will:

• Check structural drawings against project specifications, applicable standards, and offshore engineering practices.
• Review 3D models and verify that the design is free from clashes.
• Develop or check detailed offshore steelwork design.
• Review complex structural assemblies and modular arrangements.
• Verify material take-offs, bills of quantities, and associated technical data.
• Assess design solutions against fabrication, transportation, lifting, and installation constraints.
• Coordinate technical comments and interfaces with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Apply project procedures, quality requirements, document control rules, and schedule objectives.
• Produce and review clear technical documentation in English.

Required experience and skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 15 years of experience as an offshore structural designer, drafter, or checker.
• Proven experience on EPC topsides or offshore structural projects .
• Strong knowledge of offshore steel structures and modular design.
• At least five years of experience with TEKLA Design / Draft or S3D .
• At least five years of experience with MicroStation or a similar 2D drafting tool .
• Previous experience working on PDMS-based projects .
• Knowledge of E3D, which would be an advantage.
• A good understanding of offshore module transportation constraints.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and AWS material designations.
• The ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional proficiency in technical English.
