About the role

LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated On-the-Job Training (OJT) candidate for the position of Industrial Engineer. This is a casual role based in Quezon City, Metro Manila, offering you a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the industrial engineering field whilst contributing to our manufacturing operations. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to real-world engineering challenges, process optimisation, and manufacturing excellence within a dynamic steel manufacturing environment.

What you'll be doing

As an OJT Industrial Engineer, you will work alongside our experienced engineering team to support and contribute to various manufacturing and operational improvements:

• Assisting in the analysis and optimisation of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Supporting the collection and analysis of production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
• Participating in plant floor observations and time and motion studies under supervision
• Contributing to the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and documentation related to engineering projects
• Supporting the design and layout of production facilities and workstations
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance safety, quality, and productivity
• Learning and applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Conducting basic quality and safety audits under guidance from senior engineers

What we're looking for

To succeed in this OJT role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an Industrial Engineering programme from an accredited institution
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to challenges
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities in English
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from senior staff
• Strong work ethic and commitment to health and safety standards
• Preferred: Familiarity with CAD software, lean manufacturing concepts, or experience in steel manufacturing
