Old Gold Appraiser / Gold Evaluator

We are looking for an experienced and trustworthy Old Gold Appraiser to evaluate old gold jewellery, assess its purity and weight, and determine its market value. The candidate should have good knowledge of gold testing methods, gold rates, and jewellery valuation, along with strong customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate old gold jewellery, ornaments, coins, and other gold items brought in by customers.
• Test gold purity using appropriate testing methods and equipment, such as a karat meter or touchstone.
• Accurately weigh gold items and calculate their net gold weight after accounting for stones and other non-gold materials.
• Calculate the value of gold based on purity, weight, and prevailing gold rates.
• Explain the appraisal and valuation process clearly to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of gold purchases, customer details, valuation results, and transactions.
• Identify suspicious, counterfeit, or potentially stolen jewellery and follow the store's verification procedures.
• Ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies during all gold purchase transactions.
• Coordinate with the store manager and accounts team regarding gold purchases and payments.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold high standards of honesty and integrity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Previous experience in old gold appraisal or gold jewellery evaluation preferred.
• Good knowledge of gold purity, karat measurements, and gold testing techniques.
• Ability to calculate gold value accurately using current market rates.
• Familiarity with gold weighing scales and purity-testing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Honest, reliable, and customer-focused.
• Basic computer skills for maintaining transaction records are an advantage.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
