About the Role

We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and experienced team member to join our custodial crew as an On-Call Custodian. This position provides coverage when one of our assigned employees is unable to report to work. The On-Call Custodian must be prepared to step in and successfully clean different areas with little to no advance notice.

Availability is extremely important for this position. The selected candidate must be able to respond to a call or message and be available to report to work within 2 hours of being contacted.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide custodial coverage when assigned employees miss work.
• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Clean and restock restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and other common areas.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Operate basic custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet extractors.
• Adapt quickly to different buildings, areas, cleaning assignments, and work environments.
• Respond to custodial needs and urgent cleaning requests promptly.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties efficiently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report maintenance concerns, hazards, or supply shortages to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience strongly preferred.
• Must be dependable and able to respond to calls or messages promptly.
• Must be available to report to work within 2 hours of being contacted.
• Ability to successfully clean a variety of areas with minimal direction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned work locations as needed.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and days based on coverage needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
