What they need
Studio Operations Assistant
Overview
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Studio Operations Assistant to be our on-site presence at the studio. This is a hands-on, in-person role: you'll greet clients, unlock and prepare the space, and set up equipment before each session — while the recording session itself is run remotely. You don't need an audio engineering background, but comfort with basic tech setup (or an interest in learning it) is a big plus. Because this role requires being on-site quickly and reliably, candidates should live close to the studio, have reliable transportation, and be able to arrive on short notice.
Schedule
Hours are based on scheduled recording sessions, generally falling within a 10am–4pm window, 4–5 days per week, with occasional evenings or weekends. Weekly schedules will be shared in advance when possible, and pay is for scheduled/worked session time. There may also be occasional opportunities for same-day, short-notice sessions — flexibility here is a plus but not required for every instance.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on-site ahead of scheduled sessions to open and prepare the studio
- Greet clients warmly and professionally as they arrive
- Unlock office/studio doors and ensure the space is client-ready
- Turn on the AC and adjust the room to a comfortable temperature ahead of sessions
- Power on the studio Mac computer and basic recording equipment
- Set microphone height and basic physical setup based on client needs
- Keep the studio clean and organized between sessions (light tidying, trash, floors)
- Serve as the on-site point of contact while sessions are run remotely
- Communicate any on-site issues (technical, scheduling, client-related) promptly
- Basic front-desk duties: greeting visitors, light scheduling coordination
Qualifications
- Lives close to the studio, has reliable transportation, and can arrive quickly and reliably, including on short notice
- Punctual, dependable, and comfortable working independently on-site
- Comfortable using a Mac computer (basic operation — powering on, opening applications)
- Friendly, professional demeanor and appearance for greeting clients
- Prior front desk, hospitality, or studio/office experience a plus
- Basic audio engineering knowledge or interest is a bonus, not required — this role does not involve running or engineering sessions independently, though there's potential to grow into more technical responsibilities over time
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with the remote session operator
- Must be able to pass a background check
Compensation: $15/hour
If you're dependable, personable, and looking for flexible part-time work in a creative environment, we'd love to hear from you!
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 36.0 per week
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Professional development assistance
Work Location: In person
