One-Year-Old Teacher Job Description

A One-Year-Old Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for toddlers ages 12–24 months. The teacher supports children's early development through age-appropriate learning activities, social interaction, and daily care routines while promoting emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while following the center's curriculum and learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of toddlers at all times
• Follow and implement the center's curriculum and lesson plans to support developmental goals
• Plan and conduct age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development
• Assist with feeding, diaper changing, toileting, and hygiene routines
• Encourage language development, sensory exploration, and social skills
• Monitor and document children's progress and behavior
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
• Follow classroom schedules for meals, naps, playtime, and learning activities
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities and progress
• Follow all childcare health, safety, and licensing regulations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, compassion, and a caring attitude toward children
• Ability to multitask and supervise multiple children safely
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
• Pass a CCCBC Background check
• Complete childcare continuing education classes
• Complete Basic first aid and CPR certification
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow childcare policies and procedures
