Online math tutor for elementary/ middle school

*Only looking for applicants who have experience with math intervention for students with learning differences.

Overview

I'm looking for a patient yet energetic math tutor to join my team as an independent contractor for 4-10 hours per week. All of our lessons are taught on zoom and we utilize the interactive platform to support multisensory learning. Most of our students have a diagnosis of Dyscalculia or have foundational gaps in math so I'm looking for someone who has experience teaching in a concrete and scaffolded way to help close these gaps and regularly measure progress.

Requirements

Must have after school availability for tutoring sessions

Must have at least 3 years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs

Must be willing to provide lesson plans and follow a CRA approach to remediating math

Applicants will be background checked before hiring.

As this is a 1099 contractor role, tutors are required to purchase their own Zoom Pro or Koala Go accounts and taxes will not be withheld from paychecks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, clear, and interactive online math lessons tailored to elementary and middle school students’ needs.
• Develop customized lesson based on assessment results.
• Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate student understanding of math concepts.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative assessments and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment by managing student engagement and behavior effectively during virtual sessions.
• Write weekly lesson notes to maintain open communication with parents/ guardians.

Pay: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 10.0 per week
