Online Teacher - Mathematics

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and tech-savvy Online Math Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality mathematics instruction through virtual platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of mathematical concepts, excellent digital communication skills, and the ability to make abstract problem-solving intuitive and exciting for students in a remote learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Virtual Instruction: Plan, prepare, and deliver interactive online math lessons spanning middle school foundations, high school algebra/geometry, or advanced levels (such as calculus, statistics, or competitive exam modules) depending on student needs.
• Digital Tool Integration: Effectively utilize virtual whiteboards, screen sharing, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and pen tablets to clearly explain proofs, formulas, and step-by-step calculations.
• Student Assessment: Design, administer, and grade quizzes, tests, and assignments online, providing constructive, timely feedback to support continuous academic growth.
• Personalized Support: Monitor student performance metrics closely, identify learning gaps, and adapt pacing or offer remedial help for students who need extra support.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain proactive communication with students and parents regarding academic progress, performance milestones, and areas for improvement via email, chat, or scheduled virtual conferences.
• Engagement & Critical Thinking: Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and motivating virtual classroom culture that encourages mathematical curiosity and analytical reasoning.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Education, or a closely related STEM field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3+ years of formal teaching, tutoring, or online instructional experience in mathematics.
• Technical Proficiency: High comfort level navigating virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), digital whiteboards, and online assessment portals.
• Home Setup: Reliable high-speed internet connection, power backup solution, noise-canceling headset, digital pen tablet, and a quiet, professional workspace.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, boundless patience, strong time-management capabilities, and adaptability to diverse student learning styles.
