Onsite IT Engineer

Company and Role Overview

Freyr Technology AI provides GPU server and cloud computing services in Southeast Asia and internationally. We are hiring locally in Bangkok for hands-on data center support, infrastructure maintenance and asset management, working with remote monitoring teams, architects and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and remove equipment, inspect and label assets, take site photos and check connectivity. Verify onsite issues and keep the remote team informed.

• Perform or assist with network, fiber and power cable organization, labeling, route checks, port mapping and rack cable management.

• Manage local storage, spare parts, server components, network devices, cables, optical transceivers, tools and consumables. Record receipts, issues, stock counts and loans.

• Track GPU servers, network devices and spares, including serial numbers, rack locations, deployment and RMA status, deliveries and site changes.

• Follow monitoring and architecture teams' requests and remote guidance for basic troubleshooting, fault identification, cable checks, component replacement coordination and recovery verification.

• Coordinate site access, material handovers, repairs and issue closure with data center staff, logistics providers, suppliers and service partners.

Shift Coverage and Pay Arrangements

• Provide 24/7 onsite coverage on a three-shift roster under company operations policies and scheduling, with 8 hours per shift and normally five shifts (40 hours) per week per engineer.

• During assigned shifts, respond promptly to incidents and coordinate onsite actions with remote teams.

• Scheduled work outside Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00, is paid at twice the employee's regular hourly wage, even within a 40-hour week.

• Work on Thai statutory public holidays is paid at three times the regular hourly wage.

• The holiday rate takes precedence; any higher statutory requirement applies.

Records and Work Standards

• Keep accurate, current and traceable asset, warehouse, spare parts, equipment location and onsite operation records.

• Inspect sites, cables and labels; document site records and report issues. Escalate abnormalities promptly and track closure.

• Log onsite tasks, incidents, material handovers and changes for monitoring, architecture and management review.

• Follow site access, safety, equipment and customer asset procedures; avoid unauthorized or unrecorded operations.

Requirements

• 1-3 years in IT operations, data center support, server or network deployment, structured cabling or technical support; data center experience preferred.

• Basic knowledge of servers, switches, optical transceivers, copper and fiber cables, power cables, racks and network connectivity. Able to follow remote guidance and standard procedures.

• Responsible and dependable, with accurate documentation of assets, photos, labels, changes and handovers.

• Based in Bangkok or nearby; available for onsite work and rotating day and night shifts. Basic working English for internal and supplier communication. Thai language skills are an advantage.

Preferred Experience

Experience with GPU servers, AI clusters, network deployment, RMA, spare parts, asset inventories or site access procedures. Familiarity with ticketing systems, inventory spreadsheets, basic monitoring tools or onsite SOPs.

Working Arrangements

We hire locally for Bangkok and nearby data centers. Work follows the shift roster and deployment, delivery and operational needs. Necessary tools, procedures and remote technical support are provided.
