Onsite IT Technician

FULL TIME ONSITE 8AM-5PM 6 MONTH CONTRACT

Pay: $26.09 - $31.42 per hour (BOE)

Job Overview

Our client is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 2 IT Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. In this role, you will provide advanced technical assistance to end-users, troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, and support the maintenance of our IT infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of computer systems, networks, and user devices across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of various operating systems and network protocols. Responsibilities

• Provide second-level technical support to resolve escalated issues related to hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware problems, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Support network infrastructure by diagnosing connectivity issues involving LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, and network switches such as Meraki.
• Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory and Active Directory management tools.
• Assist with the configuration and maintenance of Windows Server environments, including Group Policy Objects (GPO) and Microsoft Windows Server management.
• Support help desk systems such as BMC Remedy for ticket tracking, prioritization, and resolution documentation.
• Conduct analysis of technical issues using diagnostic tools; escalate complex problems when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of customer support tickets, resolutions, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with team members to implement IT infrastructure upgrades and security measures.
• Provide training or guidance on operating systems like Windows and macOS to end-users.

Experience

• Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role with a focus on Level 2 support.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Windows operating systems, macOS, Linux environments, and mobile device management.
• Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN configuration, TCP/IP troubleshooting, DNS management, VPN setup, and network security protocols.
• Familiarity with help desk systems such as BMC Remedy or equivalent ticketing platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware components such as motherboards, hard drives, RAM modules, printers, and other peripherals.
• Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, Active Directory management, Microsoft Windows Server environments, and cloud services like Meraki or similar network solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex issues across multiple platforms and devices.
