About the Role

We are looking for an Onsite Support Engineer – Roadside Systems to support the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of roadside technology systems, including IP cameras, NVRs, networking equipment, industrial computers, LTE connectivity, and low-voltage power systems.

The role involves regular fieldwork at customer sites and close coordination with remote technical support and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and document proposed equipment locations, coverage areas, and site conditions.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain IP cameras, NVRs, industrial computers, networking equipment, and related roadside systems.
• Configure IP addresses, network connections, 4G/LTE modems, SIM cards, and basic VPN connectivity.
• Perform camera activation, aiming, alignment, firmware updates, time synchronization, and basic image configuration.
• Install and troubleshoot low-voltage DC power systems, UPS/battery systems, and solar power components.
• Perform onsite fault-finding across power, network, camera, and computer systems.
• Use Linux command line and SSH for basic system checks, service status, connectivity, and log review.
• Replace faulty equipment and components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment serial numbers, SIM details, device IDs, and installation information.
• Submit site photographs, test results, job notes, and completion documentation.
• Coordinate with remote support teams and provide clear updates on onsite findings and resolution status.
• Follow approved SOPs, HSE requirements, customer procedures, and site access rules.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in CCTV, IP cameras, networking, field systems, or similar technical environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of:
• IP cameras and NVR systems
• IP addressing and basic networking
• Ethernet cabling and connectivity testing
• Linux and SSH
• Low-voltage DC systems and multimeter use
• Valid UAE/local driving licence.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors, including in high temperatures and during approved night maintenance windows.
• Willingness to complete required site safety inductions.

Preferred

• Experience in smart city, ITS, transportation, or roadside system deployments.
• Experience with camera vendor configuration/discovery tools.
• 4G/LTE modem and SIM configuration.
• VPN, Docker, system imaging, or log analysis experience.
• Experience with solar charge controllers, battery systems, or UPS panels.
• Working-at-height, electrical safety, or first aid certification.
• Arabic-speaking ability.
