We are seeking an experienced Open Pit Mine Geologist to join a gold mining operation in the Meekatharra region of Western Australia. Working within a collaborative and supportive geology team, you will play a key role in delivering quality geological outcomes, supporting production activities, and maximising ore recovery across the operation.
 
This position will commence on a contract basis with a strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily and monthly production/geological data validation and reporting
• Geological and geotechnical mapping
• Designing and supervising drill programs
• Designing and marking up ore blocks
• Logging of RC and diamond drilling
• Collaborating with engineers to develop efficient mine plans with a focus on ore recovery
• Collaborating with operators and supervisors to implement mine plans
• Monthly and period-to-date (PTD) block model reconciliation

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline
• 2-5 years' experience as a Mine Geologist
• Open pit mining experience essential
• Gold mining experience essential
• Strong understanding of grade control and production geology
• Experience with mining software including Surpac, Leapfrog or similar
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Valid C Class Driver's Licence
• Full Australian working rights
