Open Pit Mining Supervisor – FIFO Perth

HSS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Open Pit Mining Supervisor for a FIFO opportunity from Perth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production mining professional looking to step into a well-paid supervisory position with the choice of an 8:6 or 2:2 roster and the added benefit of day shift only.

About the Role

As Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of open pit mining activities while ensuring production targets, statutory requirements and HSEC standards are consistently achieved.

You will work closely with operators and other departments across site to coordinate daily activities, maximise available resources and maintain a strong focus on safe production.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily open pit mining activities
• Ensure all activities comply with statutory requirements and company HSEC standards
• Deliver clear and informative pre-shift instruction (PSI) meetings
• Drive safe and efficient production outcomes across the mining operation
• Coordinate with other site departments to ensure production schedules are achieved
• Complete accurate and timely daily production reporting
• Optimise personnel and equipment to achieve production targets
• Provide ongoing leadership, feedback and direction to operators
• Support training and career development of team members
• Manage performance and disciplinary matters where required
• Maintain a strong safety culture across the crew

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• 10+ years' experience within a mining environment
• Minimum 5 years' experience operating frontline mining equipment
• Demonstrated experience leading and supervising production mining crews
• Strong understanding of open pit mining operations
• Sound knowledge of statutory and HSEC requirements
• Strong communication and people-management skills
• Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence
• Current Section 26 (S26) statutory qualification – mandatory
• Ability to complete all required pre-employment and site mobilisation requirements
