Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Opening General Manager to lead the pre-opening and launch of a new dual-brand Hampton Inn & Home2 Suites located in the rapidly growing Century Farms development in Antioch, Tennessee.
This is a unique opportunity to build a hotel operation from the ground up. The General Manager will join the project in November 2026, ahead of the anticipated Q1 2027 opening, and will take an active role in pre-opening planning, recruitment, training, operational setup, brand readiness, sales strategy, and the successful transition into full hotel operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who understands both the operational complexity of a dual-brand property and the importance of building the right culture before the first guest arrives.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Opening Leadership
- Lead hotel pre-opening activities in coordination with ownership, regional leadership, Hilton, contractors, vendors, and other project partners.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive pre-opening operational plan.
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop the hotel's opening leadership and line-level teams.
- Establish departmental procedures, operating standards, schedules, and staffing plans.
- Coordinate procurement, installation, organization, and operational readiness of hotel supplies and equipment.
- Oversee implementation and readiness of hotel systems, technology, and operational processes.
- Participate in property walkthroughs and identify operational deficiencies prior to opening.
- Coordinate brand training, inspections, certifications, and opening requirements.
- Ensure both Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites brand standards are fully implemented prior to opening.
- Develop a strong workplace culture focused on accountability, hospitality, teamwork, and guest service.
Hotel Operations
- Assume full responsibility for hotel operations following opening.
- Provide leadership and oversight for Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast/Food & Beverage, Sales, and other hotel functions.
- Maintain strong guest satisfaction and Hilton quality-assurance performance.
- Establish clear performance expectations for department leaders and team members.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence throughout the property.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Hilton standards, safety requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Protect the hotel's physical assets and maintain strong standards of cleanliness, appearance, and preventative maintenance.
Financial & Revenue Performance
- Manage the hotel to established revenue, profitability, and GOP objectives.
- Prepare and manage operating budgets, forecasts, labor plans, and departmental expenses.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, RevPAR Index, labor productivity, and other key performance indicators.
- Work closely with revenue management and sales leadership to develop pricing, segmentation, and market strategies.
- Analyze operating results and implement corrective action when performance falls below expectations.
- Maintain effective expense controls while protecting guest experience and brand standards.
- Provide regular financial and operational reporting to regional leadership and ownership.
Sales & Market Positioning
- Partner with the sales team to establish the property within the Antioch, Century Farms, and greater Nashville markets.
- Support pre-opening sales efforts and development of corporate, group, extended-stay, and local account relationships.
- Develop relationships with nearby businesses, organizations, event venues, and community partners.
- Understand the different demand segments of the Hampton Inn and Home2 Suites brands and maximize the revenue opportunities of each.
- Maintain awareness of competitive hotels, market conditions, and new development within the surrounding area.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Director of Operations, or comparable senior hotel leadership experience required.
- Hilton experience strongly preferred.
- Hampton Inn and/or Home2 Suites experience is highly desirable.
- Previous hotel opening or major renovation experience preferred.
- Dual-brand hotel experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, budgeting, forecasting, labor management, revenue strategy, and guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain strong hotel teams.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret hotel operating statements and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational involvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced pre-opening environment where priorities and timelines may change as the project progresses.
What Success Looks Like
The successful Opening General Manager will build a strong leadership team before opening, establish effective operating systems and controls, successfully complete Hilton opening requirements, and position the hotel for a smooth and successful launch.
Following opening, the GM will be responsible for developing the property into a high-performing dual-brand hotel with strong guest satisfaction, employee engagement, market share, revenue growth, and profitability.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to put your mark on a hotel from the beginning rather than inherit an existing operation. You will have the ability to build your team, establish the property's culture, participate directly in pre-opening decisions, and lead a significant new Hilton dual-brand hotel in one of the fastest-growing areas of the Nashville market.
