Our Financial Services client is seeking an OpenText and AppWorks Functional Application Specialist to support the configuration, enhancement, and integration of OpenText xECM and AppWorks applications.

Role Overview

As an OpenText and AppWorks Functional Application Specialist, you will support business goals and objectives by providing functional application support, managing configuration upgrades, and improving user interfaces. You will be responsible for analysing business requirements, managing change requests, and ensuring the effective implementation of OpenText solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong business analysis skills, the ability to configure complex business processes, and expertise in stakeholder management and system optimisation.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a business analysis role, specifically working with OpenText applications.
• Strong knowledge of business process optimization, system configuration, and enterprise content management (ECM).

Key Responsibilities

• Application Functional Support & Business Analysis
• Provide functional support for OpenText xECM and AppWorks applications.
• Facilitate business analysis initiatives for application enhancements, from initiation to implementation.
• Conduct workshops with business owners to define problems, gather requirements, and develop solutions.
• Review business processes, procedures, and associated data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Expand solution feasibility and develop business cases for system enhancements.
• Manage user requirement specifications throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Configuration & Change Management
• Configure OpenText xECM and AppWorks applications based on approved business requirements.
• Implement best practices in system configuration, UI enhancements, and workflow automation.
• Identify and register risks within application functional streams.
• Develop and manage functional specifications and oversee acceptance testing.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Training
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Develop and deliver training materials and plans for system users.
• Conduct training sessions to support new application functions and ensure smooth user adoption.
• Continuous Improvement & Best Practices
• Align application configurations with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure quality assurance, business transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilise elicitation techniques to gather and refine business requirements effectively.
