What they need

Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare leadership team as an Operating Director (RN or LPN), where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of regional home care service hubs. This energetic and motivating position is designed for a passionate nursing professional with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager to lead with excellence, ensuring top-tier client care and operational efficiency. As an integral part of our organization, you will champion quality standards, foster a compassionate environment, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of home care and community health services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field care staff, including Health Care Aides (HCAs) and nursing staff, to deliver exceptional client-centered care aligned with regulatory standards and organizational goals
  • Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring compliance with home care, private pay, and Alberta Health Services Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) regulations
  • Manage caregiver scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing field training to maintain a motivated, highly competent team and eliminate unassigned shifts
  • Monitor local operational metrics, maintain lean branch overhead, and optimize resource allocation to support sustainable regional growth
  • Implement case management strategies, conducting in-home clinical assessments and developing tailored care plans to coordinate client services effectively and enhance overall resident well-being
  • Ensure adherence to clinical care standards, client safety protocols, and quality assurance practices across all in-home service deliveries
  • Foster a positive, supportive work culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional development for field staff
  • Execute all local aspects of the business hands-on—from initial client intake consultations and caregiver hiring to shift dispatch in AxisCare

Skills

  • Active registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Alberta
  • Proven experience in home care, senior care, assisted living, or community health settings with demonstrated supervisory capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive and accountability to build, scale, and manage a regional branch like your own business
  • Strong understanding of clinical assessment practices, home care coordination, and CDHCI/private-pay service delivery
  • Exceptional client care skills with a focus on compassionate, high-touch service delivery for senior and home care populations
  • Expertise in operational planning, scheduling efficiency, and resource management within home care environments
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary care teams while maintaining high standards of compliance, EVV tracking, and field safety
  • Effective case management skills to convert inquiries into active care schedules and coordinate complex family needs seamlessly
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with central HQ leadership, field staff, clients, families, and external partners

This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated healthcare leaders and entrepreneurial nurses to make a meaningful impact in community home care. If you are passionate about elevating client care through strong leadership, operational excellence, and a performance-driven compensation structure ($70k–$80k base salary plus scaling quarterly/annual bonuses with $160,000+ total potential), we invite you to bring your energy and expertise to our team!
