Duties

• Coordinate and oversee all aspects of patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
• Prepare the operating room by verifying equipment functionality, arranging surgical supplies, and ensuring sterile conditions are maintained throughout procedures.
• Act as the primary liaison between the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate effective communication.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery by assessing vital signs, responding to emergent needs, and documenting all relevant information accurately.
• Assist with positioning patients appropriately for surgery while preventing injury or discomfort; ensure proper documentation of all intraoperative activities.
• Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and specimens with precision; ensure proper sterilization and handling according to hospital standards.
• Support specialized procedures such as ophthalmology surgeries or interventions involving botulinum toxin treatment when applicable.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license with current registration in good standing; prior experience as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, and infection control protocols.
• Experience working in diverse surgical settings including medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, or hospital operating rooms.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to perioperative care.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting equipment or patients when necessary, and maintaining focus in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support patient safety initiatives.
