OPERATIONS MANAGER – HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Sambho Mahadeva Transports (SMD) is seeking an experienced, result-oriented Operations Manager – Head of Operations to lead and manage the complete passenger transportation operations

The successful candidate will be responsible for overall operational performance, fleet utilization, driver management, client coordination, service quality, cost control, and team supervision. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong operational control, decision-making ability, and the capacity to manage multiple transportation activities efficiently.

Smd Finance: Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Operations Management

Lead and control all passenger transportation operations under RMC.

Develop and implement operational procedures, reporting systems, and performance standards.

Ensure smooth daily operations, timely vehicle deployment, and uninterrupted transportation services.

Monitor operational performance and take corrective action wherever required.

2. Fleet and Vehicle Management

Oversee vehicle allocation, scheduling, route planning, and fleet utilization.

Ensure vehicle availability, roadworthiness, cleanliness, and timely maintenance.

Coordinate vehicle replacements and backup arrangements during breakdowns or emergencies.

Monitor GPS tracking, vehicle movement, trip records, and operational compliance.

3. Driver and Staff Management

Manage driver allocation, attendance, duty rosters, leave, and replacements.

Monitor driver punctuality, discipline, grooming, behaviour, and safety standards.

Ensure proper coordination between drivers, supervisors, dispatch teams, and clients.

Handle staff grievances, performance issues, and disciplinary matters.

4. Client Relationship and Service Quality

Maintain professional relationships with corporate clients and key accounts.

Handle client escalations, complaints, service disruptions, and urgent transportation requirements.

Ensure timely pickup and drop services and compliance with client-specific operating procedures.

Conduct periodic client reviews and implement service improvement measures.

5. Cost Control and Operational Efficiency

Monitor fuel consumption, overtime, driver expenses, vehicle maintenance, and other operational costs.

Improve vehicle productivity and reduce idle time, unnecessary kilometres, and avoidable expenses.

Review trip sheets, duty records, billing inputs, and supporting documents.

Coordinate with the accounts team regarding billing discrepancies, additional duties, and operational expenses.

6. Safety, Compliance and Documentation

Ensure compliance with applicable transport regulations and client safety requirements.

Monitor vehicle documents, permits, insurance, fitness certificates, pollution certificates, and other statutory requirements.

Ensure accident reporting, incident investigation, and implementation of preventive measures.

Maintain accurate operational records and ensure timely submission of reports.

7. Team Leadership and Performance Reporting

Supervise operations executives, coordinators, supervisors, and other assigned personnel.

Establish measurable KPIs for punctuality, vehicle utilization, service quality, cost efficiency, and complaint resolution.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports for management.

Identify operational risks, recommend improvements, and take ownership of overall departmental performance.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
