About the Role

The Operations Manager (Tooling) leads, coordinates, and optimizes all precision tooling engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities across the organization. This position drives new mold development from initial Design for Manufacturability (DFM) through steel-cutting approval, tool qualification, and mass production transition, while managing long-term tool maintenance and repairs. Serving as the primary technical bridge between customers, internal engineering teams, and external mold suppliers, the Operations Manager ensures projects deliver on schedule, within budget, and to strict precision quality standards using Lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage new tooling project.
• Responsible for planning and organizing tooling according to project & customer requirements.
• Leads new tooling/ product development.
• Coordinate activities concerned with mould maker, scheduling and resolving tooling design.
• Evaluate and approve design change, specification and drawing release.
• Provide the DFM to discussion with customer until get customer approved the DFM for cut steel.
• Control expenditures within limitation of budget.
• Prepare and complete tooling progress report from time to time.
• Manage overall department functions.
• Review tooling repair and maintenance by efficient methods at economical cost, run in the lean manufacturing concept.
• To ensure proper and effective tool repair and maintenance.
• Other duties assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years of tooling related working experience.
• Fully understand tooling function.
• Management skills, computer literate.
• Solid team player and able to communicate well.
• Able to lead and supervise a team of Engineer.
• Experience with Engineering Tooling moulding process
