Operation Planning Engineer

The Operation Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, standardizing, monitoring, and continuously improving Facility Management operational activities across Data Center Operations.

The role serves as the focal point for maintenance planning, performance reporting, asset lifecycle coordination, spare parts strategy, operational compliance support, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, sustainability, compliance readiness, and business continuity.

This position acts as an operational planning and governance coordinator, enabling technical teams to focus on critical facility execution while ensuring plans, records, actions, and reports are delivered in line with operational priorities, budget requirements, compliance support needs, and asset lifecycle strategies.

Operations Planning & Scheduling

• Develop and maintain the annual FM Master Plan.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance shutdown planning and readiness activities.
• Maintain MOP, SOP, and EOP review schedules.
• Monitor maintenance execution against approved plans.
• Support project handover and operational readiness activities.

Budget Planning & Cost Control

• Support annual OPEX and CAPEX budget preparation.
• Track budget utilization, spending forecasts, and maintenance-related expenditure.
• Support financial justification for maintenance, replacement, and improvement projects.
• Monitor cost-saving and operational efficiency initiatives.

Performance Management & Reporting

• Develop and maintain FM dashboards and KPI reports.
• Monitor PM Compliance, Work Order Closure, Maintenance Backlog, Equipment Availability, Budget Utilization, and Energy Performance Indicators.
• Analyze performance trends and recommend improvement actions.
• Prepare monthly management reports and executive summaries.

Asset Lifecycle Management

• Develop and maintain asset lifecycle plans and replacement forecasts.
• Coordinate equipment condition assessments and critical asset risk assessments.
• Support replacement, refurbishment, and overhaul planning activities.
• Maintain lifecycle planning records, asset roadmaps, and replacement schedules.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Develop inventory strategies for consumable parts, cyclical replacement parts, and overhaul parts.
• Establish recommended minimum and maximum stock levels based on criticality, lead time, and operational risk.
• Monitor spare parts availability, replenishment requirements, obsolete inventory, and stock optimization opportunities.
• Conduct critical spare assessments and support spare parts forecasting and budgeting.
• Ensure spare parts readiness for critical maintenance and major overhaul activities.

Operational Compliance & Governance Support

• Support compliance activities related to ISO 9001, ISO 50001, ISO 27001, SS564, and applicable Uptime Institute operational requirements.
• Maintain FM compliance action trackers and audit preparation records.
• Coordinate with management system representatives, process owners, and relevant stakeholders to monitor compliance-related action items, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
• Support internal, external, customer, and certification audits through record management and evidence preparation.
• Track closure status of audit findings, corrective actions, and operational improvement actions.
• Maintain operational governance dashboards and compliance performance reports.
• Support management reviews by consolidating operational performance data, compliance status, and improvement progress.
• Important: This role supports and coordinates compliance activities but is not the owner of management systems, policies, certifications, audit sign-offs, or compliance approvals.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Review existing FM processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Standardize FM workflows, SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, checklists, and reporting templates.
• Coordinate RCA and corrective action tracking for operational issues and recurring gaps.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and track benefits, risk reduction, and efficiency gains.
• Support process automation, dashboard digitalization, and planning data quality improvement.
• Maintain the FM Improvement Register and action follow-up log.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Maintain FM planning records, controlled documents, and operational governance repositories.
• Manage document review schedules and ensure operational documents are accurate and current.
• Support audit and compliance documentation requirements.
• Maintain standard templates for planning, reporting, KPI tracking, and improvement follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facility Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in Maintenance Planning, Facility Operations, Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, Critical Facilities, Data Center Operations, or related engineering roles. Experience in Data Centers, Critical Facilities, Utilities, Manufacturing, or Industrial Operations is an advantage.
• Technical Skills: Maintenance planning & scheduling, Asset lifecycle management, Spare parts planning & inventory optimization, Budget planning & cost control, Power BI dashboard development and advanced Microsoft Excel analysis, SAP PM / CMMS workflow understanding, Data analysis, KPI reporting, and management reporting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action tracking, Risk-based maintenance and operational governance, Process mapping, documentation standardization, and continuous improvement.
