About the role

The Operation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the Container Inspection (Surveyor) and Quality Control team. The primary goal is to ensure that all containers, both inbound (In-gate) and outbound (Pre-release), meet the specific quality standards required by each client (e.g., IICL, CMA CGM). The role involves validating repair estimates, monitoring the quality of repairs, and ensuring operational flow aligns with yard requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain strict control over inspection quality during the In-gate process (damage identification) and Pre-release process.
  • Verify and validate the accuracy of damage estimates, repair costs and support photographs before data is synchronized with systems.
  • Track Work Order status, coordinate with the repair team to ensure timely repair completion and perform Final QC inspections before changing container status to Available (AV).
  • Minimize repair variance by ensuring consistent inspection standards and procedures.
  • Resolve technical disputes or inquiries from customers or shipping agents regarding container conditions or repair estimations.
  • Ensure all team members strictly follow safety regulations (QHSSE) and company policies.

About you

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Container Inspection/Surveying or M&R (Maintenance & Repair), with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in IICL standards or specific Shipping Line standards (e.g., CMA CGM) will be advantage.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of container materials and repair cost estimation.
  • Able to communicate in English, particularly technical terms related to container components and repair.
