Operation Technician

The Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of terminal equipment, facilities, and operational systems. The position ensures that product receiving, storage, transfer, loading, and related terminal activities are performed in accordance with established operating procedures, safety standards, and company policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and monitor pumps, valves, pipelines, tanks, loading facilities, and other terminal equipment.
• Perform product receiving, transferring, loading, and unloading activities in accordance with approved operating procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, tanks, pipelines, meters, pumps, and other operational facilities.
• Monitor operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, product levels, flow rates, and equipment conditions.
• Perform equipment line-up, isolation, draining, and preparation for maintenance activities as required.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of petroleum products while ensuring proper safety and operational procedures are followed.
• Conduct tank gauging, product measurement, and reconciliation of product movements when required.
• Identify and report equipment abnormalities, leaks, spills, malfunctions, and other unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor corrective actions within the scope of the position.
• Assist maintenance personnel and contractors during equipment inspection, repair, testing, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in assigned operational areas.
• Complete operational checklists, logbooks, inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure proper handling and use of tools, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other operational resources.
• Strictly comply with company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and emergency response protocols.
• Participate in emergency drills and respond appropriately to spills, fires, equipment failures, and other emergency situations.
• Coordinate with the Control Room, Maintenance, HSE, Security, and other concerned departments to ensure smooth terminal operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of a technical or vocational course, preferably in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, Petroleum Technology, or a related field.
• Previous experience in oil terminals, petroleum facilities, gasoline stations, manufacturing plants, or industrial operations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, pipelines, storage tanks, and other industrial equipment is preferred.
• Basic understanding of petroleum product handling and terminal operations.
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
• Physically fit and capable of working in an outdoor/industrial environment.
• Must be safety-conscious, disciplined, and attentive to operational details.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
