Operational Buyer

Our client is a global organization specializing in materials science and advanced metal-based technologies. The role focuses on managing the operational procurement of goods and services to ensure the continuous and efficient running of site operations.

Responsibilities

• Review and process purchase requisitions by verifying completeness, budget compliance, and coding.
• Manage the request for quotation process, including the evaluation of offers and negotiation of commercial terms.
• Convert approved requests into purchase orders and monitor order confirmations to ensure timely delivery.
• Execute contract call-offs for packaging materials and critical production supplies based on current stock levels.
• Maintain accurate supplier and material master data within the procurement system.
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies and handle complaints from internal stakeholders to maintain supply continuity.
• Prepare analytical reports on purchasing activities and support the execution of procurement improvement projects.

Requirements

• You have 5+ years of experience in operational purchasing and procurement administration.
• You bring 5+ years of experience working within an industrial or chemical production environment.
• You possess 5+ years of hands-on experience with ERP systems managing the full P2P flow.
• You have experience with master data management and contract call-offs for stock-driven replenishment.
• You bring advanced Excel skills for tracking open orders and generating backlog reports.
• You're customer-oriented, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively under time pressure.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with SAP MM or SAP Ariba.
• Knowledge of French.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other office locations.
