Operational Manager

Position Summary:

The Operational Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing commercial

and residential cleaning operations, supervising cleaning staff, maintaining

service quality standards, managing client relationships, and ensuring health

and safety compliance.

Key Job Duties:

• Plan, organise and manage daily cleaning operations across assigned

client sites.

• Supervise, train and roster cleaning supervisors, cleaners, and support

staff.

• Inspect completed cleaning work to ensure quality standards are

maintained.

• Develop cleaning schedules, task allocations, and operational workflows.
• Manage stock levels of cleaning chemicals, consumables, PPE, and

equipment.

• Ensure safe use, storage, and handling of chemicals and machinery.
• Maintain compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act requirements.
• Conduct staff inductions, training, and performance evaluations.
• Recruit cleaning staff in consultation with management when required.
• Liaise with clients regarding service delivery, complaints, and contract

requirements.

• Prepare quotes, job costing, and operational reports for management.
• Monitor labour costs, productivity, and budgets for contracts.
• Respond to urgent cleaning requirements, staff absences, and site issues.
• Ensure sites are locked, secured, and keys/access systems are managed

correctly.

• Implement continuous improvement measures to enhance efficiency and

service quality.

Pay rate $32-$35 per hour

Weekly working hours 30-40

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience; OR
• A New Zealand Qualification Framework Level 4 or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent qualification.
