What they need
You know that person who somehow keeps everything and everyone organised?
The one who knows what’s happening, what’s due, who needs chasing and what needs to happen next?
That’s who we’re looking for.
Based onsite at a working timber mill in Fyshwick, this is a broad Operations Administration role sitting right in the middle of the action – supporting production, customers, logistics, suppliers and management to keep things moving.
Let’s be upfront: this isn’t a flashy corporate office. It’s an established timber mill and a hands-on production environment.
But if you’re someone who likes being useful, having plenty of variety and becoming the person people rely on, there’s a lot to like here.
What you’ll be doing
No two days will look exactly the same.
You’ll keep on top of production data and stock levels, coordinate freight and truck movements, process customer orders, quotes and invoices, organise purchasing and supplies, and provide support across payroll, accounts and site administration.
But the real value you’ll bring is keeping everyone on track.
You’ll work closely with the Plant and Operations Managers, and they need someone confident and proactive enough to follow things up, ask the question, give the occasional nudge and make sure things don’t fall through the cracks.
About you
You’re an experienced administrator who likes working in an environment where things are happening around you.
You’re organised, switched on and comfortable dealing with everyone from managers and customers to suppliers, contractors and truck drivers.
You’ll ideally bring experience from manufacturing, logistics, construction, warehousing or another operational environment.
Strong Excel and Word skills are important, and while they use JD Edwards, you don’t need previous experience with it – you’ll be trained.
Most importantly, you’re someone who takes ownership. You spot what needs doing, follow things through and don’t need someone standing over you telling you what comes next.
Your employer
Join an established Australian manufacturer supplying quality timber products to the building and construction industry. Backed by one of Australia’s leading building products groups and some of the country’s most recognised construction brands, the business has a strong local manufacturing presence and reputation for quality, reliability and Australian-made products.
This is a full-time, 38-hour Monday-to-Friday role based onsite in Fyshwick. You’ll need a current driver’s licence, and realistically, your own transport will make life much easier given the location.
If you like being the organised one who quietly keeps the wheels turning, we’d love to hear from you.
