Operations Administrator – Luxembourg Branch

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Team in the Luxembourg Branch.

About Us Handelsbanken Luxembourg Branch started its activities in 1978 and is part of Handelsbanken Global Banking. We support the Bank’s customers in our focus markets, primarily Sweden and Norway, in their international business activities. The Branch’s core business is Private Banking (Discretionary and Investment Services), together with mortgage lending in Spain, Portugal and France.

We are looking for an experienced Backoffice professional who is passionate about providing first-class service to our customers as well as building lasting relationships with internal departments. This role will report to the Head of Operations, Luxembourg.

The role requires extensive experience with corporate actions and clearing and settlement of securities.

The key responsibilities include:

• Work with the daily clearing and settlements
• Recurring reconciliations
• Booking of payments
• Provide support to the Private Banking and Mortgage departments
• Control and follow up on pending items
• Contact for internal and external departments / counterparties
• Working with corporate actions
• Opportunity to be in charge of long-term projects

The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills in English, (French and/or Swedish is a bonus) and have the ability to interact successfully with a diverse range of colleagues, both in Luxembourg and through regular contact with the support teams based in Stockholm.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Back Office position
• Proven and solid understanding of Corporate Actions and related operational processes
• Ability to work both independently and in a team in a multi-cultural environment
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative
• A willingness to get involved in an array of different tasks
• Good social skills and ability to interact with other departments to find the best solutions for the customer
• Computer and software skills (Swift system, Excel etc.)
• Takes responsibility for their own professional development and on the job learning
• Deep knowledge of and passion for banking / financial services products and services
• An interest in and knowledge of existing and upcoming regulations
• Observe proper standards of market conduct
• Knowledge of securities, operational processes and operational risks linked to securities
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Desire to support and contribute to the development of the team around them with a positive mindset
• Able to envisage and suggest efficiencies and process adjustments to ensure smooth and robust procedures within the department
