Operations Analyst

Wells is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Operations Analyst to join our Customer Operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with a few years of workforce experience who wants to build a career in business improvement, operational performance, analytics, technology and AI.

We're not looking for a highly experienced analyst. Instead, we're looking for someone who is curious, analytical, enjoys solving problems, and is passionate about finding smarter ways of working.

About the Role

Reporting to the Customer Operations Manager, you'll work closely with operational leaders and teams across the business to improve performance, systems, processes and reporting.

A key focus will be turning operational data into meaningful insights, comparing current and historical performance, helping develop meaningful performance measures for different teams and functions, and understanding what is driving the results to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

You'll have exposure to a wide variety of work, including:

• Analysing operational performance and identifying trends and improvement opportunities
• Developing reports, dashboards, metrics and KPI reporting
• Supporting business improvement and process optimisation initiatives
• Assisting with forecasting, planning and operational decision-making
• Supporting revenue and cost analysis
• Helping improve systems, workflows and reporting processes
• Identifying opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency and business outcomes
• Supporting technology and system improvement projects
• Providing backup support for invoicing and operational reporting processes
• Assisting with technician performance reporting and analysis

No two days will be the same, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly influence how a national business operates.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• A qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management or a related field, or 1-3 years of experience in an operational, analytical, administration or business support role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good Microsoft Excel capability and confidence working with data
• Ability to interpret data and communicate meaningful insights
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, analysis or operational outcomes
• A genuine interest in business improvement and operational performance

Preferred

• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
• Exposure to business improvement or process improvement projects
• Experience within field services, utilities, infrastructure or service delivery environments
• An interest in technology, automation and AI
