What they need
Why This Role
GPS is looking for a motivated early-career professional who wants something that can be difficult to find in a first job: the opportunity to work on real business problems, contribute to decisions, and see the results of their work.
The Operations Analyst I helps identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve operations, and create value for customers and the business. The analyst will learn how companies evaluate costs, negotiate with vendors, optimize operations, manage contracts, and make decisions that affect profitability.
This role is designed for someone who doesn't just want to complete assigned tasks. GPS is looking for someone who is curious about why things work the way they do, takes ownership of their work, asks good questions, and wants to find better ways of doing things.
Industry experience is not required. The technical knowledge can be learned. Initiative, curiosity, personal responsibility, and the desire to perform at a high level are what matter most.
What the Analyst Will Do
Evaluate customer operations to identify cost-saving and service improvement opportunities.
Review vendor pricing, service levels, contracts, and market alternatives.
Help determine whether customers have the right equipment, service frequency, and service solutions for their operations.
Use operational information, volume, pricing, and other available data to support business recommendations.
Support vendor evaluations, service changes, and contract-related initiatives.
Assist with specialized projects involving regulated and technically complex service requirements.
Research problems, evaluate alternatives, and turn findings into actionable recommendations.
Track opportunities and follow initiatives through completion.
Work across Operations, Sales, Vendor Management, Customer Success, and other areas of the business.
Who We're Looking For
Early-career professional with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Self-motivated and willing to take initiative without needing constant direction.
Curious and interested in understanding how and why a business operates.
Accountable and takes ownership of assignments through completion.
Coachable and willing to learn, accept feedback, and improve.
Conscientious and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving ability.
Comfortable working with numbers and using information to make decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Internship or early-career business experience is a plus, but prior industry experience is not required.
Other offers great for you!
