Responsibilities

  • Maintain timely oral and electronic communications with the Qualified Scheduling Entity or other dispatch/control counterpart, including heightened communication during emergency or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Perform outside operator/rover duties, including rounds, equipment checks, readings, housekeeping observations, and identification of unsafe or abnormal conditions.
  • Assist with preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on turbines, HRSGs, balance-of-plant equipment, water treatment systems, auxiliary systems, valves, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Perform water and steam system testing, maintain proper treatment residuals, and escalate conditions that could create scale, corrosion, or equipment reliability issues.
  • Maintain accurate control-room logs, rover logs, DCS-generated logs, maintenance records, PM records, testing records, and repair documentation.
  • Support compliance with air permit, wastewater discharge, safety, environmental, and applicable reliability requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability, and communicate recommendations to supervision.
  • Participate in outage work, equipment isolation, lockout/tagout, startup and shutdown activities, and emergency response drills as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, military technical training, power plant technician certification, or equivalent industrial experience preferred.1
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, P&IDs, blueprints, schematics, operating procedures, and maintenance documentation.
  • Working knowledge of combustion turbine, steam cycle, cooling water, demineralizer, water treatment, natural gas/LP, electrical, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Ability to monitor turbine panels, DCS displays, alarms, trends, and local instrumentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to enter data, complete logs, use email, and work within maintenance or document-control systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, procedural compliance, environmental stewardship, teamwork, and clear communication.
  • Follow all CCI and site safety policies, procedures, and work practices.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work around mechanical systems, high-speed rotating equipment, high-pressure natural gas, high-pressure and high-temperature steam, electrical equipment, and hazardous chemicals.1
  • Work in adverse temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, elevated areas, confined spaces, and noisy industrial environments while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; lift, bend, stoop, twist, turn, reach, kneel, climb, grasp, push, pull, and perform strenuous work as required.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 100 pounds, with appropriate assistance or mechanical aids where required by safe work practices.
  • Position is expected to support a standard 40-hour work week, with flexibility for overtime, extended shifts, outage work, callouts, and peak demand periods.
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
