New Purpose House, Inc. | Houston, TX
Salary: Starting at $48,500 annually, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
Location: On-site
Reports To: Executive Director
About the Role
New Purpose House, Inc. is seeking a highly organized, proactive Operations & Program Coordinator to help manage the daily operations of our transitional housing program for women rebuilding their lives following incarceration, treatment, and other life transitions.
This person will work closely with our Executive Director, Lead Case Manager, other Case Managers, residents, and community partners to ensure the program stays organized, documentation is current, referrals are followed through, and day-to-day operational needs are handled efficiently.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through, builds relationships, and can keep multiple moving pieces organized without constant supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily program and administrative operations.
- Work closely with the Lead Case Manager and other Case Managers to support resident needs, referrals, documentation, and follow-up.
- Complete timely and accurate HMIS data entry and assist with data-quality monitoring.
- Maintain resident files and ensure documentation is complete and audit-ready.
- Support consistent use of Purpose Path, our resident/program management system.
- Coordinate referrals, screenings, intakes, admissions, move-ins, and program exits.
- Track resident milestones, 90-day reviews, employment, savings, payments, passes, and transitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, employers, community organizations, and service providers.
- Help connect residents with employment, counseling, healthcare, recovery, transportation, clothing, food, and other community resources.
- Track maintenance requests, vendors, household supplies, and routine property needs.
- Maintain program calendars, deadlines, meetings, training records, and outstanding tasks.
- Track program outcomes and assist with grant, funder, compliance, and reporting needs.
- Provide the Executive Director with a concise weekly operations report and promptly escalate urgent concerns.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in nonprofit operations, program coordination, social services, transitional housing, reentry, behavioral health, healthcare administration, compliance, or a related field.
You should be highly organized, dependable, comfortable with technology and electronic records, able to maintain confidential information, and confident communicating with residents, staff, and community partners.
HMIS experience is strongly preferred. Experience with transitional housing, reentry, recovery services, nonprofit programs, community partnerships, or grant-funded programs is a plus.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and gets it done. You should be able to balance compassion with accountability, build positive relationships, follow through on details, and know when an issue needs to be escalated.
What Success Looks Like
Resident records are current. HMIS is updated. Referrals receive follow-up. Case Managers have strong administrative support. Community partnerships are growing. Resident reviews happen on time. Maintenance and operational needs are tracked. Leadership receives reliable information without having to chase down updates.
This position should help create the structure that allows our Case Managers to focus on residents and our Executive Director to focus on leadership and organizational growth.

Starting Salary: $48,500 annually, based on experience
This position includes a 90-day performance review focused on operational ownership, HMIS accuracy, documentation, case-management coordination, referral follow-through, relationship building, and overall program organization.
