Operations Assistant

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Assistant to support daily shipping line operations, particularly in container equipment management, terminal coordination, and trucking activities. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring container movements, coordinating with terminals and trucking providers, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management

• Monitor container/equipment movements, availability, and utilization.
• Track empty container returns, releases, pick-ups, and depot activities.
• Monitor idle containers and coordinate timely return to designated depots or terminals.
• Assist in resolving equipment-related issues and discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records and operational reports.

Terminal Operations

• Coordinate with port terminals regarding vessel and container operations.
• Monitor container status, movements, holds, releases, and other terminal activities.
• Follow up on terminal-related concerns, delays, and operational issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams and terminal representatives to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in monitoring vessel schedules, delays, and other operational requirements.

Trucking Coordination

• Coordinate with trucking providers regarding container pick-up, delivery, and return schedules.
• Monitor trucking assignments and container movements.
• Follow up on delayed or pending container movements.
• Coordinate with truckers, terminals, depots, and internal departments to resolve operational issues.
• Maintain records of trucking activities and provide regular status updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience in shipping line, freight forwarding, logistics, terminal, depot, or trucking operations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of container equipment and shipping line operations is preferred.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple operational activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Able to work under pressure and handle time-sensitive operational concerns.
• Willing to coordinate with terminals, depots, truckers, and other service providers.
